September 11th Memorial

Our thoughts and prayers go out to anyone affected by Sept. 11th. No one will ever forget or be forgotten.

Anonymous said...: I agree, we ought not to forget. I wrote this poem a few days after the event which I watched transfixed on TV in the UK. The poem was used in an anthology that was given to the people of the USA.

Beyond The Conflict.

We watched with you,
wept with you,
prayed with you,
sought an explanation;
found no reason why hate,
in all its nakedness,
should descend from on high,
separating families,
separating friends,
bringing future conflict in a war that sees no end,
and yet through mutual sorrow,
through the mist of falling tears,
we see a man,
his arms outstretched,
Jesus, our God,
still reigns supreme.
