Interview with DesignShack

Thanks to DesignShack for posting their interview about Cutcaster. If you get a moment, check it out. It's very quiet over there with no comments. hahaha

  1. After following the link to the picture in that interview, I began to question how to probably keyword here. I'm sure the photographer had numerous phrases but when you look at his keywords, it looks like a bunch of multiples on the same words. I in turn, looked at one of my own and saw that a phrase that I had put in quotes was separated by a comma (open quote with first word, closed quote with second word). Maybe I missed this in the reading on the site but how should we put phrases in keywords or is it not allowed. I want to make sure I'm keywording appropriately. Thanks.

  3. Here are examples explaining my question about whether the Cutcaster system accepts phrases whether or not in quotes.

The link above was in the interview for DesignShack. The photographer may have listed karate and lesson separately then "karate lesson" (not in quotes) but you can see how all words are separated by commas. My guess is that young boy, little boy, and homeless boy may have been listed together because there would be no reason to list "boy" separately more than once. But he has a whole lot of other words like that.

The Christmas Ornament link above is mine that I checked after seeing the karate one. I had Christmas and tree separate then identified the ornament as a "Christmas Tree" (in quotes). You can see that the system must put commas between words in phrases even if the phrase is in quotes.

Here is another one of mine with the common names for the plant in quotes. All have been separated by commas with either the open or closed quote still attached when they show up on the site.

It's definitely something to check because buyers may wonder why the heck there are so many repetitive words. So my question is can we use phrases or simply list all words separately. I'm on some sites that only take words separately and some that allow the quotes to separate specific phrases or bundled keywords.

Thanks for looking at this. I hope I explained it well enough for you.

    Regards,

  4. Good question Patricia. I'm also curious how John answer's this one. Using the CC search engine like we think a buyer might is the only way to identify potential problems down the road (and we need to keep John busy :)).
